We review 3 of the most popular inventory management software solutions on the market. Their strengths and weaknesses are called out below.

Let’s take a look at each solution in turn below: 

#1 Inventory Management System

Skubana’s pricing depends on your requirements, a brief call makes sure you get the right price for your business.

Skubana suits small and large businesses, and businesses at any stage of growth. Skubana was constantly rated as multichannel brands and high-volume marketplace sellers. They are a cloud based platform that minimizes storage costs, deadstock, stockouts, balance your inventory turnover ratio, and frees up capital. What we liked is that Skubana scales, so as your business grows so does it. It will suit multichannel brands and does a good job of establishing a holistic view of your sales data, fulfillment data, and automated supply chain management across most channels. What we found was that Skubana had Netsuite level scalability but at a fraction of the cost.

WHAT WE LIKED:

  1. Best User Experience –  manage multi-channel orders on one dashboard
  2. Amazingly simple reporting – cross-channel reporting with detailed data on revenue, order, and units sold
  3. Smooth Set-up & Integration – Ability to integrate with sales channels, warehouses & 3PL providers quickly and without complex coding
  4. Inventory tracking was solid -real data, not dated spreadsheets, across all channels for consistent metrics
  5. Trial – they let you try it out before committing to a long & costly implementation & service contract 

CONSIDERATIONS:

  1. Cost – although cheaper than Netsuite for most small businesses, it’s not the cheapest solution out there. However, Skubana did have Netsuite level scalability unlike other cheaper options

Cin7 – base prices for a license start from $999 p/month 

NetSuite is, simply put, HUGE. It is the #1 enterprise software in the world and with size comes complexity. There are plenty of businesses of all sizes that love Netsuite, and plenty that don’t. Netsuite are a cloud ERP solution, providing a suite of applications, from accounting and financial planning, to warehouse management, ecommerce, inventory management.

One thing about NetSuite is engineered to scale with businesses as you grow and to streamline mission-critical processes. 

WHAT WE LIKED:

  1. Omnichannel experience
  2. Scalable integration
  3. Highly customizable (at a cost)
  4. Great reporting tools

CONSIDERATIONS:

  1. Cost – it can get really expensive, we read a lot of online reviews complaining about the cost vs other solutions. 
  2. Integration – again, a lot of complaints online from customers having long and arduous implementation cycles. 

3. Cin7

Cin7 – $295 to $650 

After reviewing their product & online customer reviews Cin7 was our top pick. Cin7 natively integrates all the warehouses, stores and online channels where brands hold and sell their products. Where it varies from the others is that it eliminates time-consuming and costly integration projects and because Cin7 scopes every deployment as part of their price, they have a 100% project success rate. With ERPs, every integration requires time (Netsuite has some horror stories), and every deployment comes with a high risk of failure. Cin7 was the most agile in that respect.  

WHY CIN7 ARE #1:

  1. Fast & Smooth Implementation – Cin7 get you up and running pretty quickly from all customer review
  2. Build-In Automation – More agile and cost-effective than ERPs.
  3. Comprehensive Features 
  4. Build-In EDI & POS – Cin7 integrates eCommerce websites, online marketplace integrations, brick-and-mortar retail (with built-in POS), wholesale (including a built-in B2B Ecommerce module), and supplier channels (using our integrations with built-in EDI).

CONSIDERATIONS:

  1. Some reviews mentioned that inquiries sometimes have a 24-hour turnaround time
  2. If your business requires a highly bespoke enterprise solution then the cost can get high

Our Conclusion

They all have pros and cons, but after careful review Skubana was our top choice due to its comprehensive features, great customer support, customer reviews & reasonable price. Skubana inventory management System is designed to help fast-growing businesses efficiently manage their operations & inventory, at a great value but still with scaleability.

Netsuite is amazing, but it’s a lot to implement, operate, and its price can be prohibitively expensive.  Finally, Cin7 is on our last spot due to their relatively lower scalability compared to the others.

Our review is not meant to be exhaustive, these are complex SaaS products. But after careful review we do think Skubana have an edge, especially for SMB’s looking for a cost effective solution. We recommend booking a consultation to learn more about which solution would suit you best.
