Best Payment Service To Earn Points

RewardPay is a payment platform that allows you to pay your ordinary business expenses for suppliers and other institutions that don’t take credit card (or you’d rather pay by bank transfer due to excessive fees or to improve your cashflow), to the ATO for your tax bills, or for superannuation payments – and earn points.

There are a few non-points benefits too – primarily that you can use your credit card to improve your business cashflow.

Payment recipients do not need to be registered with RewardPay – but they will see ‘RewardPay’ and your reference number in the payment description in their bank account, so it’s not a completely hidden service to them.

RewardPay and American Express have teamed up to bring you this payment service. It’s extremely easy to use, just sign up (it’s free and you just need an ABN), add the BSB and account number of the supplier you want to pay and add the amount to pay. Then input your American Express credit card number and they will make the payment to your supplier.

Fees start at 2.15% + GST (1.51% after tax deductions and claiming GST assuming a 30% tax rate) so start using your everyday business spend to earn more reward points for you and your business.

Plus for larger payments they offer rates as low as 1.65% + GST.

How do I join RewardPay?

Joining RewardPay is free, quick, easy and obligation free. Just click on the sign up button at the top right of the homepage. You will need to add your ABN, business name, address, email and mobile number. It should take 5 minutes at most.

Who can use RewardPay?

Any Australian business with an ABN.

What cards can I use on the RewardPay portal?

RewardPay only accepts Australian issued American Express cards. You can use a personal or business Amex card.

How do I make an ATO payment?

ATO – to make an ATO payment you will set up the ATO as your payee. This requires their ABN (reserve bank of Australia ABN), bank account number and BSB details (Google direct credit ATO).

Once you have set them up as a payee, you enter the amount owing, EFT reference provided to you by the ATO and your credit card details. If your payment is finalised on the RewardPay portal by 5pm AEST/AEDT on a business day, the payment will be paid out by RewardPay the next business day but may not show receipt until the following business day. Please give yourself extra time if making a payment with a specific deadline i.e. ATO or Superannuation. We recommend leaving 3 to 4 business days.

How do I make a Superannuation payment?

To make a Super payment you set up your clearing house as your payee (not the individual super funds). You will need to have your clearing house ABN, BSB, bank account number and relevant EFT reference. You make one single payment to them. The clearing house will then distribute the funds to the individual super funds for you. (if under 20 employees and under $10mm turnover you can use the ATO super stream clearing house for free).

Our

RewardPay allows you to make payments that would normally be done by bank transfer, on your points-earning credit card. They charge a fee (to the payer, not payee), which is tiered based on the payment amount for each individual transaction. The cost makes sense if you have a high-points earning card, and there are a few American Express cards and business circumstances where this approach to earning points could work if you’re a business owner.
