We review 3 of the top inventory management software solutions in the market. Rankings are based on user reviews, product features, user experience, implementation, and price.

Top 3 options are:

  1. Cin7  – $295 to $650 p/month. 
  2. Netsuite  – base prices for a license start from $999 p/month
  3. Skubana – depends on your requirements but starts at approximately $1000 p/month

Cin7 was rated as number 1, let’s take a look at each solution in turn below: 

#1 Inventory Management System

Cin7 – $295 to $650 

After reviewing their product & online customer reviews Cin7 was our top pick. Cin7 natively integrates all the warehouses, stores and online channels where brands hold and sell their products. Where it varies from the others is that it eliminates time-consuming and costly integration projects and because Cin7 scopes every deployment as part of their price, they have a 100% project success rate. With ERPs, every integration requires time (Netsuite has some horror stories), and every deployment comes with a high risk of failure. Cin7 was the most agile in that respect.

CONSIDERATIONS:

  1. Some reviews mentioned that inquiries sometimes have a 24-hour turnaround time
  2. If your business is multi-national and > $300m turnover then you might require a highly bespoke enterprise solution

2. Netsuite

Netsuite – base prices for a license start from $999 p/month 

NetSuite is, simply put, HUGE. It is the #1 enterprise software in the world and with size comes complexity. There are plenty of businesses of all sizes that love Netsuite, and plenty that don’t. Netsuite are a cloud ERP solution, providing a suite of applications, from accounting and financial planning, to warehouse management, ecommerce, inventory management.

One thing about NetSuite is engineered to scale with businesses as you grow and to streamline mission-critical processes. 

WHAT WE LIKED:

  1. Omnichannel experience
  2. Scalable integration
  3. Highly customizable (at a cost)
  4. Great reporting tools

CONSIDERATIONS:

  1. Cost – it can get really expensive, we read a lot of online reviews complaining about the cost vs other solutions. 
  2. Integration – again, a lot of complaints online from customers having long and arduous implementation cycles. 

3. Skubana

Skubana starts from $1000 per month, you’ll need to confirm costs after speaking with their sales consultant

Skubana suits small and large businesses, and businesses at any stage of growth. They are described as multichannel brands and high-volume marketplace sellers. They are a cloud platform that boosts (their words, not mine) that they “minimize storage costs, dead stock, stockouts, balances your inventory turnover ratio, and frees up capital”. Skubana suit multichannel brands and does a good job of establishing a holistic view of your sales data, fulfillment data, and automated supply chain management across most channels. 

WHAT WE LIKED:

  1.  Easy to manage multi-channel orders 
  2. Ability to integrate with sales channels and warehouses
  3.  Inventory tracking was solid

CONSIDERATIONS:

  1. Cost – although cheaper than Netsuite for most small businesses, it’s not the cheapest solution. If cost is a priority over customizability then you should consider Cin7

Our Conclusion

They all have pros and cons, but after careful review Cin7 was our top choice due to its comprehensive features, great customer support, customer reviews & reasonable price. Cin7’s inventory management System is designed to help fast-growing businesses efficiently manage their operations & inventory, at a great value but still with scaleability.

Netsuite is amazing, but it’s a lot to implement, operate, and its price can be prohibitively expensive.  Finally, Skubana is on our last spot due to their higher priced plan (compared to Cin7)

Our review is not meant to be exhaustive, these are complex SaaS products. But after careful review we do think Cin7 have an edge, especially for SMB’s looking for a cost effective solution. We recommend booking a consultation to learn more about which solution would suit you best.
