A heat map is a graphical representation of data where values are depicted by color. Heat maps make it easy to visualize complex data and understand it at a glance. The two leading heatmap solutions in market are Mouseflow and Smartlook and we review and call out their strengths and weaknesses below.
#1: Mouseflow. Mouseflow records all of your website visitors sessions, so that you can make decisions based on all your data. Their software allows you to easily find the sessions that had experienced frustration with your site, and get to fixing your site quickly. Their free plan includes 500 recordings per month and unlimited pageviews
#2: Smartlook. Their software is also very good at Heat Maps with fairly decent UI. Their plan starts at $31 per month for 7,500 monthly sessions.
Our Conclusion
Mouseflow is the cheaper of the 2 options. Mouseflow offers unlimited, instantly-built heatmaps for all your pages and on all its plans. Smartlook is a good second choice although their heatmaps are limited per plan and need to be set up prior to collecting data for analysis. Both Mouseflow and Smartlook offer similar qualitative analytics product.
If you are after an all-in-one solution to improve your website experience and conversions Mouseflow is the best option.
