Building an e-commerce store in 2021 is confusing but with the right eCommerce platform, you’ll be able to design a store, source products, advertise them and make cold hard cash, all without leaving your office.
In this article we compare 2 of the most popular, Wix & Shopify and call out their strengths and weaknesses below.
#1: Wix – eCommerce plan starts at $23 per month . This includes complete eCommerce platform. Wix gives you 100s of templates, unlimited pages & hosting free.
#2: Shopify –Basic plan starts at $29 per month and with a free 14 day trial. Scaling can get expensive ($299/month).
Our Conclusion
After carefully reviewing both, Wix offer more than Shopify and for less. Unlike Shopify, We love that Wix is available for free for as long as you want, this allows you to test. If you need professional features like your own domain name or eCommerce, you can get that too with one of their premium plans. Also, most users find Wix is easier to use than Shopify, and Wix provide more creative freedom than Shopify from a design perspective.
Don’t get us wrong, Shopify is good, and they’re big, and has alot of flexibility for larger businesses. But you don’t need alot of what it has (and charges) for as a smaller business.
If you are a small business and brand conscious entrepreneur we’d recommend trying Wix first, it offered design flexibility with a strong e-commerce package for less than Shopify.
